Craven - 2011 - Juicio a la Conciencia

Genre:  Melodic Death Metal
Country: Mexico

What to say about these fucks? First, Craven is a local band to my hometown, I'm an acquaintance of'em and I even get along well with Irving and Silva. So, you could say I'm not going to be COMPLETELY impartial when judging their work. It ain't my intention to pointlessly praise their work either.

Saying these young musicians play melodic death metal, or melodeath  if you like, is... not quite accurate. I'd rather say their stuff is made up out of a well accomplished, modern, mature and interesting cluster of influences, yet there IS melodic death involved.

As I said before, I know Craven; I've been witnessing they're gigs every now and then since 2006, I own their two demos (Rezos, 2006; El Velo de las Mentiras, 2009), and I've gladly seen how their short career has unfolded. Juicio a la Conciencia is a refreshing release in a time when everybody sounds the same, and few are those who try to build up their own style.

There's nothing else to be said, except to mention Craven also friendly shared their work with me, and authorized me to spread it by posting it to this blog, which is AGAIN a personal effort to share the music that is worth it.

Cheers!
